My journey towards becoming a mental health therapist began at the age of 9, when I immigrated to the United States from Russia. This transition exposed me to two distinct cultures, offering a unique perspective on mental health attitudes and practices.
Growing up, I experienced first-hand the cultural norms where discussions around mental health were often muted or dismissed entirely. Particularly within minority communities, I noticed that emotional openness and acknowledging mental health issues were often met with stigma.
I launched my practice to fill a gap I identified in providing accessible and culturally-sensitive mental health support. My goal is to create an open and safe space where individuals feel empowered to break the silence surrounding mental health.
When I’m not in the office, you can find me experimenting in the kitchen, walking my Goldendoodle, Biscuit, or spending quality time with friends and family.
My practice and my life are grounded in the belief that understanding and addressing our mental health is a crucial part of our wellbeing.
I received my M.A. in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University in Los Angeles. After graduating, I went on to do my clinical training at respected inpatient hospital, crisis, and residential settings. I am a licensed marriage & family therapist as well as trained in Attachment-Focused EMDR.
